Fast forward to today, and I am lucky enough to still have the very first book that I took out from the library (which they sold during a book sale to raise needed funds to acquire new titles). Beyond the time-worn hardcovered jacket, with yellowed pages, lies a delightfully loveable picture book by British author/illustrator John S. Goodall called Naughty Nancy. The mischievous adventures of a little mouse named Nancy who is chosen to be a flower girl at her sister's elegant wedding was one of my early favorites, and still is.
My early love of reading led and inspired me on my journey to becoming a professional writer, and I am humbled by the fact that it is now being passed down, as I watch my young son develop a similar love of literature. It is my hope that A Modest Momma's Musings for Little Readers will become a helpful resource to both families and teachers that will promote the joys that children will receive when they learn to read and discover the world of stories that will open their minds and enter their hearts.
Thank you for stopping by!
